The three word banks hold 50 words each (125,000 combinations); they are curated from the well-known Shakespearean insult kit and from vocabulary found across the plays, not an exhaustive concordance. The Real lines style quotes actual text with its play, act and scene.
How it works
The classic style builds an insult the way the famous Shakespearean insult kit does: pick one word from each of three columns — a simple adjective (artless, churlish, venomed), a compound adjective (beef-witted, onion-eyed, toad-spotted) and a noun (apple-john, clotpole, whey-face) — and put “Thou” in front. With 50 words per column that is 50 × 50 × 50 = 125,000 different insults. Choose Thou art a… and the article is corrected to “an” before a vowel; choose No opening if you want to drop the words into your own line.
Switch the style to Real lines from the plays for authentic quotations, each with its source, from Falstaff’s abuse in Henry IV to Kent laying into Oswald in King Lear. Leave the seed box empty and every click of Hurl insults gives a fresh batch; type anything into the seed and the list becomes reproducible — the same seed, style and count always give the same insults, so you can share the exact list with a friend. Duplicates within one batch are filtered out. Everything runs as plain JavaScript in your browser: no server, no signup, no ads, and nothing you generate leaves your device.

How is a Shakespearean insult built?
The classic formula is "Thou" plus two adjectives plus a noun, for example "Thou artless beef-witted knave". Every word in the generator is drawn from vocabulary used in the plays.
Are the quotes genuine?
Yes. Alongside the generated insults the page lists real insult lines with the play they come from.
Can I reproduce a batch?
