How it works

Drop a photo and this tool reads its hidden EXIF metadata entirely in your browser: the file is loaded into an ArrayBuffer with the FileReader API and parsed locally by the exifr library, so nothing is ever uploaded. You'll see the camera and lens, exposure settings, the exact moment the photo was taken and โ€” if the camera recorded it โ€” the GPS location where it was shot. JPEG, TIFF and HEIC photos straight from a camera or phone carry the most metadata, while screenshots and images re-saved by social media usually carry none. If you find something you'd rather not share, the companion EXIF Remover strips all metadata and gives you a clean copy.
