How it works
This tool redraws your photo onto an HTML canvas and re-encodes it — the canvas only holds raw pixels, so EXIF data (camera model, capture date, GPS coordinates and so on) physically cannot survive the round trip. Before cleaning, it scans the original file and tells you how many metadata fields were found, with a specific warning if a GPS location is embedded. Note that re-encoding JPEG images is slightly lossy, so the cleaned file may differ marginally in quality and size. Everything happens locally in your browser: the image never leaves your device.
