How it works
This tool re-encodes your image with lossy JPG or WebP compression using your browser's built-in Canvas API โ nothing is ever uploaded, so your photos never leave your device. Lowering the quality slider shrinks the file size at the cost of some visual detail; values around 60โ80 usually give a big size reduction with little visible difference. The preview and size comparison update live as you adjust the settings, so you can find the sweet spot before downloading. Note that transparency is kept for WebP output, while JPG output is flattened onto a white background.
