How it works
Numerology turns letters into digits and adds them up. This calculator uses the Pythagorean chart by default (A–I = 1–9, then J–R = 1–9 and S–Z = 1–8 again), and can switch to the Chaldean chart, which assigns 1–8 only and never uses 9. Every letter of your name is scored, the totals are added, and the sum is reduced by adding its digits together until a single digit remains — except for the master numbers 11, 22 and 33, which are kept as they are.
Four classic numbers come out of that. The Expression (Destiny) number uses every letter. The Soul Urge uses the vowels only, the Personality the consonants only (Y counts as a consonant unless you tick the box). If you add a date of birth you also get the Life Path — the month, day and year each reduced and then added — plus the Birthday number (the day of the month) and the Maturity number (Expression + Life Path). Everything is computed in your browser: no sign-up, no ads, no data sent anywhere. Treat the reading as a bit of fun — it says nothing about your health, finances or future.

What are master numbers?
The totals 11, 22 and 33 are traditionally kept rather than reduced to a single digit. The calculator preserves them and marks them as master numbers.
What is the difference between Expression and Soul Urge?
Expression uses every letter of the full name, Soul Urge uses only the vowels and Personality only the consonants. Life Path comes from the birth date rather than the name.
