How it works
Paste an Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn or X caption and every hashtag is detected instantly with
a regular expression that understands letters, numbers, underscores and non-Latin alphabets —
so #café and #日本 count too. You get the total hashtag count, how
many are unique, how many are accidental duplicates, and how many characters the hashtag block
eats out of your caption limit.
The formatter then rewrites the list the way you want it: lowercase for a tidy block,
CamelCase for screen-reader-friendly tags like #BeachLife, duplicates removed,
sorted alphabetically or by how often you used them, joined by spaces, commas or new lines.
The platform panel flags when you go over Instagram's hard limit of 30 hashtags per post or
past the recommended counts for TikTok, LinkedIn and X. Everything runs in your browser in
plain JavaScript — your unpublished captions are never uploaded, and there are no ads or

How many hashtags can you use on Instagram?
Instagram enforces a hard limit of 30 hashtags per post — anything beyond that stops the caption from publishing, and comments with more than 30 are silently dropped. In practice Instagram itself now recommends 3-5 well-chosen tags for reach. This tool counts your unique hashtags live and flags the moment you cross 30, plus the softer recommended counts for TikTok (about 8), LinkedIn (3-5) and X (1-3).
Why should hashtags use CamelCase?
Screen readers read #beachlife as one unintelligible run of letters, but read #BeachLife correctly as two words. Capitalising each word inside a hashtag costs nothing visually, does not affect how the platform matches the tag — hashtags are case-insensitive — and makes your posts accessible. Pick the CamelCase option and every detected hashtag is rewritten for you in one go.
Does this count duplicate hashtags?
Yes. Duplicates are matched case-insensitively, so #Sunset and #sunset count as one tag. The stats show the total, the unique count and how many duplicates you have, the tag list marks repeated tags with a multiplier, and the formatter removes duplicates by default so you never burn one of your 30 slots twice.
Is my caption uploaded anywhere?
No. The whole tool is plain JavaScript running in your browser — there is no server call, no API key, no account and no ads. Your unpublished captions and campaign hashtags never leave your device, and the page keeps working with your network disconnected.
