How it works

Pick a quiz type, choose a region if you only want to drill one continent, set how many questions you want and press Start quiz. Every question gives you four options; the moment you answer, the right flag is highlighted and the country and its capital are spelled out, which is the fastest way to fix the handful of flags that always catch you out. A running score, progress bar and timer keep the session honest, and the results screen lists every question so you can replay just the ones you missed.

The quiz covers 68 countries across Europe, the Americas, Africa, Asia and Oceania. Each flag is drawn live as a simplified vector shape — no images and no emoji — so it looks identical on Windows, macOS, Android and iOS instead of collapsing into two letters the way flag emoji do on some desktops. Simplified means the geometry, colours and emblems are there but fine detail such as coats of arms and lettering is left out. Capitals are the internationally recognised seats of government; South Africa has three, and Pretoria (the executive capital) is the one used here.

Questions and answer options are shuffled with a seeded random number generator, so adding ?seed=42 to the URL replays exactly the same quiz — handy for classrooms where everyone should get the same paper. Everything runs locally in your browser: no account, no uploads, no ads and no tracking, and it keeps working offline.
