Cover Letter Generator
Fill in the job details, pick a tone and get a ready-to-send cover letter as text or PDF.
You edited the letter by hand — changing a field above regenerates it and replaces your edits.
How it works
Fill in your details, the company and the job title, and a complete cover letter is written as you type — contact header, dated address block, a greeting that uses the hiring manager's name when you have it, an opening that names the role and where you found it, your strengths as a short bullet list, a "why this company" line and a matching closing paragraph. Four tones are available: professional, enthusiastic, short & direct, and a career-change version that turns a non-obvious background into the argument for hiring you.
The generated letter lands in an editable box, so you can rewrite any sentence before you send it — the word count and the one-page check update while you type. Copy it straight into an email, download it as a plain .txt file, or export a clean A4 PDF built in your browser with pdf-lib. Keep it under roughly 400 words so it stays on a single page, and swap the generic phrases for specifics from the job advert. Everything runs client-side: your name, salary history and job search are never uploaded, and the page keeps working offline once loaded.
Frequently asked questions
What should a cover letter include?
A contact header with your name, email and phone; the date; the company and hiring manager; a greeting; an opening that names the role and where you found it; two or three specific achievements; a line on why that company; and a closing with your sign-off. This generator lays out all of those for you and you can edit any sentence before sending.
How long should a cover letter be?
Three or four short paragraphs — roughly 250 to 400 words on a single page. The tool shows a live word count and warns you as soon as the letter is likely to spill onto a second page.
Is my personal information uploaded anywhere?
No. The letter is assembled by JavaScript in your own browser, and the PDF is built locally with pdf-lib. Your name, contact details and job search never leave your device, there is no account and no AI service is called.
