Binaural Beats Generator

Generate binaural beats in your browser: set the base and beat frequency, pick a brainwave band, play it or download a WAV.

Headphones required — speakers mix the two tones in the air and the beat disappears.

Left ear 195 Hz
Right ear 205 Hz
Perceived beat 10 Hz
Brainwave band Alpha (8–13 Hz) — relaxed focus

Stopped. Put on headphones and press Play beat.

Start at a low volume and stop if you feel uncomfortable. Binaural beats are a relaxation aid, not a medical treatment — any effect on focus, sleep or mood is an estimate, not medical advice. Do not listen while driving or operating machinery, and talk to a doctor first if you have epilepsy or a seizure disorder.

How it works

A binaural beat happens inside your head: play 195 Hz in the left ear and 205 Hz in the right and your brain hears a 10 Hz pulse that is not present in either tone. This generator builds exactly that with the Web Audio API — two oscillators, one routed to each channel through a channel merger so there is no bleed between ears. Set the base (carrier) frequency, set the beat frequency, or tap a preset for the classic brainwave bands: delta for deep sleep, theta for meditation, alpha for relaxed focus, beta for alertness and gamma for concentration. Everything updates live, so you can shift the beat while it is playing.

Lower carriers (100–300 Hz) give the strongest beat sensation; above roughly 1 kHz the effect fades. Download WAV renders your settings to a 44.1 kHz 16-bit stereo file — with a short fade in and out so it starts and stops without a click — which you can drop into a playlist or a sleep timer. Everything runs in your browser: no uploads, no account, no ads and no tracking. Headphones are essential; speakers mix the two tones in the air and the beat disappears.

Frequently asked questions

How do binaural beats work?

Each ear is given a slightly different tone — for a 10 Hz beat the left ear hears 195 Hz and the right ear 205 Hz. Your brain perceives the 10 Hz difference as a pulsing beat that is not present in either tone. This generator creates the two tones with the Web Audio API and routes them through a channel merger so there is no bleed between ears.

Do binaural beats need headphones?

Yes. The effect only exists when each ear receives its own frequency. Over speakers the two tones mix in the air before they reach you and you hear a simple tremolo instead of a binaural beat. Any stereo headphones or earbuds work — no special hardware is needed.

Which beat frequency should I choose?

The presets follow the usual brainwave bands: delta (0.5–4 Hz) for deep sleep, theta (4–8 Hz) for meditation, alpha (8–13 Hz) for relaxed focus, beta (13–30 Hz) for alertness and gamma (30–40 Hz) for concentration. A base frequency between 100 and 300 Hz gives the strongest beat sensation. These are relaxation aids, not a medical treatment.
