How it works
Drop in an MP4, WebM, MOV or any other video your browser can play, set the start and end seconds for the part you want to keep, then press Trim video. The page plays that range back through a canvas and records it with the browser's built-in MediaRecorder, so the clip is cut and written entirely on your own device — the file is read straight from disk with the File API and never leaves your computer.
Because the trim is recorded rather than re-muxed, the export runs in real time: a 30-second selection takes about 30 seconds. The result is a WebM file (VP9 or VP8 video with Opus audio, depending on your browser), which plays in every modern browser and uploads fine to YouTube, Discord and most editors. Choose a smaller maximum width or a lower quality to shrink the file, and untick Include audio for a silent clip. Some players only show the length of a recorded WebM after playing it through once — that is normal for streamed recordings and does not affect the video itself.
