How it works
Paste or type your text and every statistic updates live: word count, character counter (with and without spaces), sentence counter, paragraphs and lines. Words are split on whitespace the same way word processors count them, so the numbers match what Google Docs or Word would tell you. Reading time is estimated at 225 words per minute and speaking time at 140 words per minute, and the top keywords list shows your five most frequent meaningful words — handy for spotting overused terms. You can also drag a .txt or .md file onto the panel instead of pasting. Everything is computed in your browser with JavaScript; nothing you type is uploaded or stored.

How is reading time calculated?
Reading time assumes an average silent reading speed of 225 words per minute, and speaking time assumes about 140 words per minute, the pace of a typical presentation.
Does my text get uploaded anywhere?
