How it works
Type anything in the top box and the result box fills in instantly. To flip text upside
down, each letter is swapped for the Unicode character that looks like its rotated twin
— a becomes ɐ, e becomes ǝ,
? becomes ¿ — and then the whole line is reversed, so reading it
from the start feels like reading the original from the end while standing on your head.
Mirrored mode uses look-alike glyphs that face the other way, and backwards mode only
reverses the character order without changing any letters.
Because the output is ordinary Unicode text and not an image, you can paste it into an Instagram bio, a TikTok caption, a Discord message, a nickname or a document. Characters with no flipped equivalent (emoji, Chinese, Japanese, Korean and many accented letters) are left exactly as they are and the tool tells you how many were skipped. Everything runs as JavaScript in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded, logged or stored.

How do I flip text upside down?

Does upside down text work on Instagram, TikTok and Discord?
Yes. The output is ordinary Unicode text rather than an image, so it pastes into Instagram bios and captions, TikTok captions, Discord messages and nicknames, X posts, WhatsApp and most documents. A few apps use fonts that are missing one or two of the rarer glyphs, so paste it once and check before publishing.
What is the difference between upside down, mirrored and backwards text?
Upside down rotates the text 180°, so it reads as if you turned your screen over. Mirrored uses glyphs that face the other way, like a reflection in a mirror. Backwards leaves every letter untouched and only reverses the order of the characters. You can also reverse the order of the lines, which is what makes multi-line text look properly flipped.
