How it works
A contact sheet is a single image holding numbered thumbnails of a whole batch of photos — the digital version of the proof sheet photographers used to print from a roll of film. Drop as many images as you like, choose how many columns you want, and the sheet is laid out instantly on a canvas: square thumbnails, optional filename captions, an optional title, and your own background colour.
Everything happens in your browser with the Canvas API and FileReader — your
photos are never uploaded anywhere, which matters when you are proofing client work.
Cover fills each square and crops the edges (tidiest grid);
contain shows the whole frame with letterboxing. Download the finished sheet
as a lossless PNG, or as a smaller JPG for emailing, and use Copy image list
to paste the numbered filenames into a message or spreadsheet.

What is a contact sheet?
A contact sheet is one image that shows small numbered thumbnails of a whole batch of photos, usually with the filename printed under each frame. It comes from film: photographers laid the negatives directly on photo paper to make a 'contact' print of the entire roll, then picked the keepers with a loupe. Digitally it does the same job — a single file you can email, print or attach to a job so a client can say 'number 14 and number 22' without opening a folder of RAWs.
How do I make a contact sheet without Photoshop or Lightroom?
Drop your images on this page — as many as sixty at once — and the sheet is laid out immediately. Set the number of columns, the thumbnail size, the gap and the margin, add a title if you want one, and choose whether filenames are printed under each thumbnail. The preview redraws on every change, and 'Download PNG' saves the finished sheet at full resolution. No Adobe licence, no install, no account.
Are my photos uploaded anywhere?
No. Every thumbnail is decoded and drawn with the Canvas API inside your own browser, and the exported PNG or JPG is generated on your device — nothing is sent to a server, so there is no upload, no storage and no watermark. That makes it safe for unreleased client shoots, and it also means the tool keeps working offline once the page has loaded.
